ON May 1st, 2018, Persisticon partnered with TueNight, a storytelling platform and live event series for women over 40, on an early, pre-screening of RBG, an intimate portrait of an unlikely rock star: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Journalist Dahlia Lithwick, in conversatino with Lynn Harris of GOLD, Comedy For Girls, introduced the screening. Dahlia writes about the courts and the law for Slate, and hosts the podcast Amicus. She is the author of the forthcoming Lady Justice (Penguin Press), about the role of women in the fight for the rule of law in the Trump era. Huzzah!

Met with rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January, RBG tells a uniquely American story. From a Russian Jewish immigrant family, Justice Ginsburg blazed a trail from Brooklyn, New York to Harvard and Columbia Law Schools, and went on to build a career that harnessed the power of the law to champion a more equitable society for all.

Proceeds from the event went to Project100.org, whose mission is to achieve 100 progressive women serving in Congress by 2020 — the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote.

The event sold out within 24 hours. So we got a bigger theater. That one sold out too.
